In addition to the events listed below, every month there are pancake breakfast and fly-ins.
- On the 1st Saturday of the month EAA Chapter 105 has a breakfast at Starks Twin Oaks Airport (7S3)
- On the 2nd Saturday of each month the WAAM has a fly-in at Hood River- www.waaamuseum.org/pages/whatsNew/whatsNew.html
- On the 3rd Saturday of the month EAA Chapter 31 has a breakfast at Creswell Hobby Airport (77S)
- Every Friday there is a Koffee Klatch at Lenhardt Airpark (7S9). Pilots gather for coffee and donuts (donation appreciated). 10:00 am til……….? You’re welcome to fly in or drive in all year round and just socialize.
- Every Saturday, stop in for a barbecue lunch at noon at Newport, (ONP), at the FBO.
Sat. June 1, Ashland Airport Day, Ashland, OR (S03)
Pancake breakfast and lunch will be available on the field, and there will be a variety of displays, EAA Young Eagles flights, and rides for adults in several aircraft, including a 1930 New Standard biplane.
Sat.-Sun. June 1-2 Keyway (19WA) Doug Bill invites: “we will be having a little get together at Keyway to open up for the season. Pass it on!” This is a gem of an airstrip, across the Columbia from Cascade Locks, and the owner – Jay Hatfield – and the airport “manager” Doug Bill, really know how to make pilots feel welcome.
Sat. June 1 Lake Chelan Airport (S10) Lake Chelan, WA
This is an all-day event: pancake breakfast, prime rib bbq dinner, and a live band in the
evening! Yes, you can camp at the airport.
Fly-In, Young Eagles, food, vintage and experimental airplanes.
Sat. June 15 Grants Pass Airport Days, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. Grants Pass Airport, (3S8) Grants Pass, OR
These folks would love to have us fly in for their festivities. Camping area. Vendors, food – beginning with a barbeque Friday night.
Sat.-Sun. June 15-16 Tonasket (W01) Annual Fathers’ Day Fly-In and Steak cookout; North of Okanogan and Omak. Contests – flour bomb drop and spot landing. Cook your own steak on their big grills and get all the trimmings for $10.
Sat.-Sun. June 22-23 Annual Curtis Fly-In (0WA2) Southwest of Chehalis; Steve and Jilene Furjesi sponsor this at their private/grass airstrip along with local EAA chapter 609. Get a tour of their complete shop for aircraft fuselage and parts manufacturing. There is so much information about this amazing fly-in that I’ve included a flyer from a few years ago. EXCEPT for the date on the flyer, everything else is pertinent to the 2019 fly-in.

7:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. Classic car show, static aircraft displays, helicopter rides, helicopter touchdown and auto rotation contest. Airport Manager: 503-434-7411
Sat. July 6 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Florence Municipal Airport (6S2) Florence, OR
7th Annual Wings-n-Wheels Fly-In, Car Show, Breakfast & lunch, Model Aircraft, helicopter rides, transportation to 3 Rivers Casino. Event is from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., with the airport open from 7:00 a.m. for people flying in.
Sat. – Sun. July 6-7 Gig Harbor Wings and Wheels Air Show and Car Show, Tacoma Narrows Airport. (KTIW) 11:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. both days. Multiple live aerobatic performances and fly-overs; dozens of airplanes on static display; 200+ car show, vendors, beer garden, activities for the kids.
Sat.-Sun. July 20-21 7:30 a.m –1:00 p.m. both days Mulino State Airport (4S9), Mulino, OR
Annual Blueberry Pancake Breakfast fly-in. Antique cars, vintage airplanes.
Fri. – Sun. July 21-23 Concrete Vintage Fly-In, Mears Field (3W5) , Concrete, WA
This is probably the prettiest airport I’ve ever seen, with a phenomenal antique aircraft museum. The fly-in should be a great event, with all the usual fly-in stuff going on. Large pilots lounge has restrooms & showers. Camp under your wing.
Sat. July 27 UFO Annual Fly-In/Camp-Out at Sandy River Airport (03S) Sandy, OR.
This is the UFO’s annual fly-in. Fly in or drive in, and stay for the entire weekend, camping on the airfield…in tents or RVs. Airport frequency is 122.8 and the owners require that you use a radio. Saturday is a barbeque @ noon. Please bring a salad or desert to share. After the bbq on Saturday we’ll do a fly-out, perhaps a poker run, a flight to the Corn Patch, or …?
Fri.-Sun., Aug.2-4, Eastsound Fly-In & Antique Car Show, Orcas Island Airport, (ORS) Eastsound (Orcas Island), WA
Warbirds, experimentals, old fashioned airplanes, local pilots and seaplanes, aircraft, plus flying demonstrations. There will be a pancake breakfast Sat. & Sun. at the Fire Hall from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Camp in grass tie down area. Showers available.
Sat. Aug. 3 Prineville Fly-In and Car Show, Prineville Airport (S39), Prineville, OR
8 a.m.– 2:00 p.m. Aircraft displays, Crook County Rodders classic cars, EAA Pancake
Breakfast, Prineville Lions Club hamburger/hotdog lunch.

Vintage Aircraft Fly-In & Automotive Show
Fri.–Sun. Aug. 16-18 Arlington Balloon & Airplane Festival, Arlington Municipal Airport, Arlington, WA (AWO)
Airshow & fly-in. This has always been “the big one” here in the Pacific Northwest. It used to be right after July 4th – now it’s been moved to August. Beer garden, afternoon airshows, live music in the evening, FATPNW activities on Sunday. You can camp under your wing.
Sat.-Sun. Aug. 3-4, Jim Wright Memorial Stearman Fly-In, Cottage Grove State Airport (61S). This is the 41st annual fly-in of WWII trainer bi-planes. Stanley, the 1929 New Standard biplane will be available all weekend to give rides.
Saturday is the day to see these magnificent old birds, which were used to train WWII pilots. Most of the pilots will head for home by 1:00 p.m. Sunday, so come out Saturday to see the planes, talk to the pilots, and look around the Oregon Aviation History Center.

This is a Van’s Homecoming Event – featuring a full scale fly-in with a full schedule of aviation-related forums and family activities. It is sponsored by EAA Chp. 292. There is also a classic auto show that is within walking distance at Riverview Park.

Scappoose Industrial Airpark Airport (SPB), Scappoose, OR
Food, informational booths, Spaghetti Feed on Friday night. Bi-plane rides.
Partnering with the Hwy. 30 car club.
Fri.-Sun. Aug. 23-25 Northwest Art & Air Festival, Albany Municipal Airport (S12), Albany, OR
Hot air balloons, OPA Convention, arts and craft vendors, camping, car show – lots to do at the airport and in Albany itself. (Free shuttle between airport and the Art Fair).
John & Martha King will be guest speakers on Saturday from 1-3 p.m.
Fri., Sat. Aug. 23-24 Airshow of the Cascades, Madras Municpal Airport, (S33) Madras, OR
Fri. 4 – 10 p.m. Sat. 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Fly-Ins Welcome, airplane rides, bi-plane rides, kids play area, military displays, vintage aircraft static display, hot rod and antique car display, gilder rides, firefighting planes and helicopter display, helicopter rides, food booths, music, beer garden, model airplanes, skydivers and more. Sat.–Mon., Sept. 7-9 UFO Annual Coast Flight, Powers State Airport, (6S6) Powers, OR
This is the annual coast flight to Powers. We (a gaggle of UFOers) fly down on Saturday and meet up with other ultralight/ELSA pilots from all over the area. Some folks fly back on Monday (Labor Day.) Others continue to fly as long as weather, work and family obligations permit.
Fri.-Sun. Sept. 7-9 Annual Hood River Fly-In, sponsored by the Western Antique Aeroplane and Automobile Museum, Hood River, (4S2), OR,
Pilot’s night is Friday night. Spaghetti feed, campfire, etc.
Saturday and Sunday: Lions pancake breakfast, many special events. Antique bi-planes will be flying. Camp under your wings. Showers are available. Bring your own tie downs.
Sat. –Sun. Sept. 7-8 Keyway (19WA) Annual camp and cook out; private invitation from owner Jay Hafford & family and mgr Doug Bill; BIG dinner & breakfast with minimal charge for great food.
Sun. Sept. 22 83st Annual Our Lady of Lourdes Chicken Dinner (930 Jordan Road, Scio) – and Fly-In, Gillette Field (OR51) Scio, OR
I flew to this for the 1st time in 2014, and flew to it again in 2015, and all I can say about it is “WOW!!!” This is a GREAT fly-in, and a block away is a phenomenal chicken dinner – plus lots and lots of other activities. This is a don’t miss for sure. If you don’t fly-in, drive in with your family. You’ll love it.
Sat.-Sun. Sept. 28-29 Felts Field Fly-In, (KSFF) Spokane, WA. This is the new site for the Vintage Aircraft Weekend, which used to be held at Paine Field. A “fly-out” Saturday afternoon will feature spot landing and flour bombing at nearby Deer Park Airport. For further details, go to feltsfieldflyin.com
